Vanilla Latte Part Deux
Yes, I’m back in the coffee shop where everyone is unique. I’m sipping on Vanilla Latte and observing my surroundings. It’s not really the same without my Fiance, Lauren. She’s the only person I would really come here with. She’d complain about the coffee and I’d watch for a musician I’d recognize. I haven’t seen one this time around.
Have you ever had a moment that’s so surreal? Last night I was laying in bed listening to one of my favorite songwriters… Andrew Peterson. I don’t think he’s for everyone to be totally honest. I do, however, love his music. I listened to one album and before I knew it I had listened to the three that I had on my iPod. Anyway, Mitch told me today he was coming by the studio… it was weird in a cool way. I mean, I really love his music. It’s encouraged me in some lonely times and to see him walk through the door and hang out was so stinking cool. I told him I loved his music but that’s not exactly how I felt you know? I really wanted to tell him that I hear something more than a cool song when I listen to his albums. That his words and music are so wonderfully placed together and when I listen sometimes I’m speechless… not at his songs, but like some divine beauty is inside the words striking chords left and right in my life… it’s weird.
I don’t feel that strong of a connection with many artists. It was way cool to meet one of them face to face and eat lunch with them.
I consider it a blessing, not luck, to get to meet some of my heros.

You know JOn, that’s sorta how I felt when you and Jason came to town. I remember the show I played at Grace before yall came I was thinkin, “Holy crap, those guys are gonna be on this very stage, I’m on now.”
And when I played that filler set, I was the most nervous I had ever been. But it was so cool playing for yall. And playing with yall has served as a confirmaiton for me to continue with my music.
Can’t wait to hear what’s next
