Hopkinsville, Kentucky

I went to a wedding this weekend (alliteration!) in Hopkinsville, Kentucky. Now, you’re probably asking yourself, what’s in Hopkinsville? Lots of farmland. It reminded me that I’d like to have a farm one day but I’m not sure I’d like to do all the maintenence. However, if I can afford to buy a bunch of farmland I could probably afford to hire some help. My farm will be pretty amazing though… better than all the other farms. I’ll have a bunch of those off-road golf carts and four wheelers for racing purposes. I’m sure my wife will want horses and I’ll race those too. Not professionally though for I am much too large.

The wedding was a blast. They hired a great band for the wedding and I totally did my white-boy dancing until I had to stop. I’m horrible dancer but I love to dance. After the wedding we were really thirsty and I remembered seeing a Sonic right next to our hotel room. If you’ve never experienced a Sonic Slush then you’re really missing out on something special. I highly suggest you get the cherry flavored slush on a hot day/night. They’re really so good. My only problem with Sonic is this: do you tip the people that bring you your food? I mean, they walk 10 feet and I’d be willing to bet they don’t rely on tips like other food service employees do. I feel like I should be having a conversation with Mr. Pink from Resivoir Dogs.

One of the great things about weddings is that you get to catch up with friends. Lauren’s best friend from college and her husband were in for the wedding from San Antonio and it was so good to hang out with them. On Saturday before the wedding we went to a bbq lunch for friends and family from (alliteration) out of town. At this bbq lunch they had something I’d never seen before but I’m now going to build. It’s called cornholing and it’s a lot like horseshoes or washers. The object is to throw a beanbag as close or into a hole in a piece of play wood about 20 feet away. It’s a good time for sure.

Hope everyone had a great labor day weekend. I sure did.
